Before you hire a mold inspector.
Here are some questions to have answered:
- What are their hours and availability? Are they flexible to your schedule?
- Are they local to your area or based in another state?
- Do they have proper experience and training? What type of training and where?
- Do they have reliable and verifiable inspection references?
- Are they licensed and insured? How much and what type of insurance and is it current?
- What type of equipment do they use during the inspection?
- What type of sampling is performed and how many samples are included in the price quote?
- How much are additional samples?
- When will the lab results and reports be available?
- Do they generate a report with the findings and any recommendations? If so, what mold guidelines do they adhere to?
- Which laboratory will they use? Local or in another state? And is the lab accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP)
